Es lo que hay…/ Only this…

Llega fin de mes y nuevamente debo mostrar mis trabajos terminados para “One Project a Month Challenge”.
Esta carpeta la hice usando solo retazos, no tenía ningún diseño escogido, la idea era practicar “Quilt as you go”(los bloques se acolchan individualmente y posteriormente se unen), y creo que me resultó, y lo mejor de todo, es que queda reversible.

Reaches end of the month and again I show my work completed for "One Project a Month Challenge”.
This folder, I made using only scraps, had no choice design, only I wished to practice "Quilt as you go" (the quilting blocks individually and then together), and I think that I did, and best of all is that it is reversible.

La gallinita es un cosmetiquero, me encantó el modelo, todos sus detalles lo hacen muy especial.

The hen is a makeup bag, I loved the model, and all its details make it very special.

Paseando por el jardín / Strolling through the garden

¡Ya no hay barro! Eso de vivir en el campo es maravilloso, pero cae la primera lluvia y la tierra se convierte en barro, sales a caminar y regresas con los pantalones mojados hasta la mitad de la pierna (por favor no me digan que use botas para el agua), así que durante el invierno contemplo el jardín desde la terraza.

No more mud! To live in the countryside is wonderful, but the first rain falls and the ground turns to mud, you salts for a walk and come back with wet pants halfway down the leg (please do not tell me to wear boots for water) , so during the winter I look at the garden from the terrace.

Hace unos días recorrí el jardín, está todo florecido o brotado, incluso el durazno y el Acer platanoide, árboles que parecía que no se adaptaron al terreno. Él que definitivamente se murió es el nogal (Nota: no soy experta en árboles, me dedicó a la jardinería como entretención). El resto sigue su ciclo con normalidad, aquí hay algunas fotos.

A few days ago I toured the garden, it's all sprung or flourished, even peach tree and Acer Platanoides, these trees appeared that did not adapt to the terrain. Walnut is definitely died (Note: I am no expert on trees, I turned to gardening as a hobby). The rest follows its normal cycle, here are some photos.

Después del temporal…/ After the storm ...

Siempre sucede lo mismo, después de semanas muy ocupadas con temas familiares, esta semana volví a mis trabajos e intercambios.

Same thing always happens after weeks busy with family issues, this week I returned to my work and swaps.

El intercambio 15x15 está resultando muy bien, ya he recibidos nueve bloques y he enviado 15, aún debo enviar cinco más. Estos son los últimos que llegaron:
Gracias a Eva, Nieves, Emi, Mari, Núria, Ludy y Mar Paz, estoy armando un conjunto muy hermoso (me siento como los niños que durante los recreos cambian sus láminas coleccionables). Así que el intercambio sigue abierto para las que aún no se han animado.

The swap 15x15 is proving very good, I have received nine blocks and I have sent 15, even I send five more. These are the last to come: Thanks to Eva, Nieves, Emi, Mari, Núria, Ludy and Mari Paz, I'm putting a very beautiful set (I feel like children change their stamps collectables). So the swap is still open for those who have not yet animated.

Por otro lado, hace mucho tiempo que deseaba hacer algo con bloques de patchwork que van quedando en el olvido, muchos que hice como práctica o con la intención de hacer determinado proyecto (An Angel Story, Silvia Bridal Sampler o House Quilt de Forever Green) o simplemente los deseché porque no me gustó la tela que en ese momento elegí (Dear Jane). Les he ido agregando franjas para dejarlos todos del mismo tamaño y he empezado a acolchar, es impresionante como buscando y buscando ya tengo doce bloques, con quince haré una piecera. (Tengo una cantidad similar de bloques en azul y rosado).

On the other hand, I has long desired to do something with patchwork blocks that are being left in oblivion, as many I made who practice or intend to do particular project (An Angel Story, Sylvia Bridal Sampler or House Quilt Forever Green) or simply dismissed it because I liked the fabric I chose at that time (Dear Jane). I've been adding bands to let them all the same size and I started quilting, is impressive as searching and searching and I have twelve blocks,with fifteen I will make a bed quilt. (I have a similar number of blocks in blue and pink).

Me hace falta esto…/ I need this...

No he tenido tiempo hasta ahora de hacer una entrada, ni de terminar trabajos. Tengo un bordado en punto cruz y un tapete por enmarcar, un nuevo mueble por empezar a pintar y mucho patchwork por continuar, pero estas últimas semanas el tiempo se hizo humo. Al menos ya terminé mis exámenes y control médico que debo realizarme cada tres meses, el próximo será en diciembre.

I have not had time now to make an entrance, or to finish my work. I have cross-stitch embroidery and a mat for framing, a new cabinet to start painting and much patchwork to continue, but these last weeks the weather became smoke. At least I finished my exams and that should I have my medical check every three months, next will be in December.

Pensé en escaparme un fin de semana a Buenos Aires, pero después vi que se aproxima la semana de vacaciones por Fiestas Patrias (Chile debe ser el único país que celebra su independencia durante varios días), entonces busqué vuelos para esa fecha, y…para sorpresa mía está todo agotado, cambié el destino: Iquique en el norte de Chile, y pasó lo mismo, así que por el momento no habrá “escapadita”. A este ritmo tendré que ir planeando con tiempo las vacaciones de verano.

I thought a weekend escape to Buenos Aires, but then I saw the approaching holiday week for Chile holiday (Chile should be the only country that celebrates its independence for several days), then, I looked flights for that date, and ... to my surprise is all exhausted, I changed the destination: Iquique in northern Chile, and was the same, so for now there will be "getaway". At this rate I'll have to go by planning the summer vacation time.
