No veo la meta aún, pero estoy presente.

Do you still run?

I don't see the finish, but I am present.

Treinta y seis bloques de telas recicladas, seis pájaros bordados a mano encontrados en una feria y una carpetita preciosa que se resiste a morir.

Thirty-six blocks of recycled fabrics, "six hand embroidered birds" that I found in a flea fair; and lovely doily that refuses to die.

Bolso de primavera / Spring Handbag

¿Primavera?, sólo algunos aromos florecidos y las mañanas más claras nos indica que se acerca la primavera.

 Spring? Some flowered acacia and clearer morning, tells us that spring is coming.

Hace unos días, mi amiga Mónica recordó que tenía guardado (dos años) un patrón de un bolso  y deseaba hacerle uno a cada una de sus tres hijas. En varias sesiones, avanzó con el primero, le falta el tirante, cortó las telas del segundo y cosió el cierre del bolsillo y… después llegaron los resfríos y no hubo más reuniones en las casas. Yo que me había paseado con mis telas, ya en  casa, agripada, empecé a coser…y lo terminé. Ahora listo lo puedo mostrar y decirle a Mónica:”ponte las pilas”.

A few days ago, my friend Monica remembered had saved (two years) a pattern of a bag and wanted to give one to each of his three daughters. In several sessions, she advanced to the first bag, it lacks the handle, on the second, cut the fabric and sewed the zipper pocket and ... then came the flu and no further meetings in homes. I that I had "walked" with my fabrics, at my home,I started to sew ... and finished it. Now I can show the handbag ready and tell:" Monica put the batteries".

También he cortado telas, juntado bloques reciclados y hecho “picadillo” una carpetita bordada para la maratón que organiza Gra. Los fines de semana son familiares, así que es imposible participar de la carrera, pero tengo todo dispuesto para correr sola durante la semana.

I also cut fabrics; gathering blocks recycled and made "small pieces" an embroidered doily for Gra's marathon. Weekends are family, so it is impossible to participate in the race, but I have everything ready to run alone for the week.

La rosa del sur / The Southern rose

Este es un nuevo bloque para mi quilt inspirado en el BOM Vicksburg del año 2009 de Linen Closet Quilts.

This is a new block for my quilt inspired by the Vicksburg BOM (2009) of Linen Closet Quilts.

Digo “inspirado” ya que creo que modificaré el  bloque central, en vez del águila pondré una codorniz, muy típica de donde vivo.

I say "inspired" because I think that will modify the central block, instead of the eagle, I put a quail, very typical where I live.

Falta bastante todavía, pero va tomando forma ¿cierto?

I will sew quite yet, but this is taking shape right?

Esta semana…/ This week...

Acompañando a mi mamá mientras se recupera de una neumonía, terminé “El Carrete”, curioso bloque en una de sus tantas variaciones: un carrete de hilo con hojas de roble.


¿Alguien conoce el origen de los nombres de los bloques?

With my mother while recovering from pneumonia, I finished "The Reel" curious block in one of its many variations: a spool of thread with oak leaves.


Does anyone know the origin of the names of the blocks?
