El Valor de los Antiguos y el Precio de los Nuevos Bordados / The Value of Old and the Price of New Embroidery

Cuando comencé a hacer patchwork, me gustó la idea de poder combinarlo con otras técnicas de costura que yo sabía., así que cada vez que puedo, y el diseño es compatible, agrego un motivo de bordado. Por esta razón, aparte de los que ya tenía, empecé a coleccionar otros motivos con diferentes puntadas. Los encuentro en la ropa usada, vestidos de niña, blusas, servilletas, etc.

When I started doing patchwork, I liked the idea of to can combine it with other sewing techniques that I knew. So whenever I can, and the design is consistent, I added a source of embroidery. For this reason, apart from those who already had, I started to collect other motifs with different stitches. I find in the used clothing, dresses for girls, blouses, napkins, etc...

En casa, mi mamá tenía guardadas parte de las sabanitas que ella hizo cuando nací y un mantel bordado a máquina por una tía hace más de 40 años, ahora los tengo yo, esperando la oportunidad más apropiada para usarlos, ya que sin duda no tienen precio.

Por otra parte, esta semana compré para la mesa de la cocina, unas carpetas con Richelieu “made in China” y no gasté más de US$ 8… Sin comentarios.
