Before writing this post, I thought what to say about my work last week, and when I was read the Georgina's blog on the work that one leaves aside, and that when one takes up the not understand why this happened.

The first days of April I started a quilt for my mom, and organized me in time to finish the quilt on May 20, on the occasion of her birthday. In one week I had all the blocks, and then applique's motifs a few that were not complicated, there were 10 days and I had not started the quilting, but other matters that did all my planning were off to the trash along with my enthusiasm beginning. I remember that on her birthday, I showed the quilt to my mother, and I returned at home with the quilt to be in a corner ready to resume at any time. And so it happened three months. I started several new projects, but I felt indebted, and so that I stopped for a while and I decided finish the quilt as soon as possible, and goes out.

I try to find a reason why this happens to us, but they are so many things for which we live, and although I would love to get up and work in what pleases me all day, is something impossible and irrational, there is a family, a house, that are priority before the entertainment with crafts. I understand it well, and I think my mom too, because she was never asked me about the quilt.

You will laugh, because I think in this matter while I was in the gym, one of my daily activities for health reasons.

After my routine of the day finish, I go to the computer to read the latest news from blogs, and I found a drawing of a new pattern designed by a Swedish quilt. You can read it here.

Hasta Pronto.

Good Bye.

Regalos recibidos y una Solicitud / Gifts Received and a Request

During the week passed, I received by Susana of Chiloe Island the swap "Thimble and Antique Treasures" which organized Titi and Mariella. She sent me a beautiful old pillbox and a thimble carved, apart from nice work in wool made by her. And as if that were not enough, she included a set of embroidery threads, ribbons, fabric printed with small flowers, old postcards, a necklace and a wooden spoon, craft typical of the island.

I had sent to her this cushion, together with the respective copper's thimble, antique key and buckle.

In addition I started a new quilt for spring-summer season, and although it is a simple and fast model, I have decided to complicate my life embroidering some angels, but I do not have enough patterns. Does anyone have any pattern in "country style" that may send me? if so, please write me and thank you very much beforehand.
For now I leave this angel of stained glass that I use to decorate a window.

Hasta pronto.

Good Bye.

Le ha sucedido a usted…/It has happened to you…

… That you wishes don't move of your house on Saturday in the afternoon, and well ahead with overdue tasks, but one of his sons recalled that he was invited to a birthday party in a place far removed from your neighbourhood. And furthermore, you are awarded the prize-winning numbers: leave your child at the party. During the trip you are in a wad because a train stopped at the crossroads community, and then with a vehicular accident. Finally, after an hour behind you leave your child in the home of celebrated boy and you returns to your home. But while deciding whether to make the same journey earlier or change the route, you see in a place an "antiques fair" and then you were parking and you decide to cross…

… And there I was telling me: how I had not seen this before? Furniture, suitcases, jugs, lamps, records; books are some things I saw. And this tray, which I don’t, resisted and bought it.

My works are still backward, my son enjoyed with his friends and I had an afternoon with a lot of distraction.

Así van mis trabajos / So my works are:

Bloque L-7 Dear Jane / Block L-7 Dear Jane

Bloques Bunny Patch / Blocks Bunny Patch
Sampler húngaro / Hungarian Sampler
SAL de Amalia / Amalia's SAL

Hasta la próxima semana.

De Vuelta a Clases / Back to School

It began the second half of the year for all students of my home. A week ago, the two boys resumed classes at school and this Monday the older children went back to university. Also my husband continues with the master that began last year and should finish next December, because after more than twenty years he graduated from university, he decided to return to the classroom. This will be the pace that we have (including me) until mid-December; at least that there is not graduation ceremony this year. After that, Christmas and New Year, relentlessly. I hope to be "entire" last weeks of the year.

This past weekend we take it with a visit to Buin Zoo, a large zoo on the outskirts of Santiago, surrounded by a lot of vegetation and rural ambience. I leave you some pictures of that trip.

Un gran abrazo y hasta pronto.

A big hug and good bye.
