Y además, usted se adjudica el número premiado: ir a dejar a su hijo a la fiesta. Durante el trayecto se encuentra en un taco, debido a un tren detenido justo en el cruce comunal, y luego con un accidente vehicular. Por fin, después de una hora de atraso usted deja a su hijo en la casa del festejado y retorna a su casa. Pero mientras decide si hacer el mismo recorrido anterior o cambiar de ruta, divisa en una plaza una “feria de antigüedades” y acto seguido, se estaciona y decide recorrerla…

De Vuelta a Clases / Back to School

Comenzó el segundo semestre para todos los estudiantes de casa. Hace una semana reanudaron las clases en el colegio los dos chicos y este lunes lo hicieron los mayores en la universidad. También mi marido continúa con el magíster que comenzó el año pasado y que debiera terminar en diciembre próximo, y es que después de más de veinte años de egresado de la universidad, decidió volver a las aulas. Éste será el ritmo que tendremos (también yo) hasta mediados de diciembre; menos mal que no hay ceremonia de graduación este año. Después de esto, navidad y año nuevo, sin tregua. Espero estar entera la última quincena del año.

It began the second half of the year for all students of my home. A week ago, the two boys resumed classes at school and this Monday the older children went back to university. Also my husband continues with the master that began last year and should finish next December, because after more than twenty years he graduated from university, he decided to return to the classroom. This will be the pace that we have (including me) until mid-December; at least that there is not graduation ceremony this year. After that, Christmas and New Year, relentlessly. I hope to be "entire" last weeks of the year.

Este último fin de semana lo aprovechamos con una visita al Buin Zoo, un gran parque zoológico en las afueras de Santiago, rodeado de mucha vegetación y ambientación campestre. Les dejo algunas fotos de dicha salida.

This past weekend we take it with a visit to Buin Zoo, a large zoo on the outskirts of Santiago, surrounded by a lot of vegetation and rural ambience. I leave you some pictures of that trip.

Navidad en Julio / Christmas in July

Hace unos años atrás comenzaba los preparativos navideños durante noviembre.
Cuando decidí regalar cosas hechas por mí, me di cuenta que noviembre era demasiado tarde, muchos materiales ya estaban agotados en las tiendas, y por tiempo, algunos compromisos eran reemplazados por algo comprado.
Así cada año fui adelantando en un mes mis objetivos, y me di cuenta que no era la única persona preocupada de esto.

A few years ago I began the preparations for Christmas during November.
When I decided to give away things made by me, I realized that November was too late, many materials were already exhausted in the shop, and for time, some compromises were replaced for something purchased. So each year I was ahead in one month my objectives and I realized that I was not the only person worried about this.

El “25 de junio” alguien escribió en un blog que solo falta seis meses para navidad y Pepi propuso hacer un panel con técnica de apliqué y en otros empezaron a aparecer proyectos libres relacionados al tema.

On "June 25" someone wrote in a blog that lack only six months for Christmas and Pepi proposed to make a wall hanging with appliqué's technique and began to appear in other sites free projects related to the topic.

BOM de navidad de Angie Padilla / Christmas BOM Por otro lado, junté una gran bolsa con mini retazos de telas, y decidí hacer cojines y caminos de mesa “scrappy” para bajar su volumen y de paso juntar “regalitos”. He diseñado alrededor de seis y la bolsa está igual.

Otherwise, I gathered a large bag with mini pieces of fabrics, and I decided to make pillows and table runner "scrappy" to lower their volume and at once I gather "gifts". I designed around six table runner and the bag is the same.

También he juntado marcos de fotos de madera para decorar con botones, perlitas, llaves y alguna otra cosa que encuentre en el camino. Cuando estén listos los enseño.
Definitivamente la navidad llegó por aquí.

Also I have wooden frames pictures to decorate with buttons, jewelry, keys and anything else I find on the road. When they are ready I show them.
