10 days ago I received the Swap of Luck and sent me Angelines Artero of Zaragoza, Spain; she was very generous gift fabrics, patterns and many other things very useful for me.

Also I received the Swap of San Juan, on occasion of the summer arrival (here there are only temperatures near 0 ° C for that moment),Titi sent me from Concepcion, Chile, a beautiful set in decoupage on tin and glass, with very female's motifs.

Other thing, I have finished the 4 part of Hungarian Sampler E hice el segundo bloque de Dear Jane guiado por Georgina.

and I had the second block Dear Jane, guided by Georgina.

I also inscribed me for the Auxi's challenge of to finish works every month that one leaves aside. I love when proposing this, because I promise to finish without excuses. In January I made a quilt and I was very satisfied with the outcome.

I know this year I did not anything painted, because, I wish to work the doors and drawers of my bedroom's closet and cover the kitchen table, but this work I must make in the yard, and at least until September that begins to change the temperature I'm not exposed to cold. Hopefully, I will can show to year end.

Hasta pronto

GoodBye

¿Quieres conocer dónde vivo? / Want you to know where I live?

Miss Laurence invited to show our city: streets, buildings, etc., so I join this proposal to teach them a little corner of Chile.
14 years ago, I left Santiago, capital of Chile, with its frenetic pace and exhausting, to live in a plot in Lonquen (Talagante province), about 50 kilometres distant of the city. The change was abrupt, because despite the proximity (40 minutes per Highway), Lonquen is a rural sector, where activity turn around agriculture, the commerce closes at lunch and there are things only basic necessities. Over time one gets used and begins to know and enjoy places and traditions of the town.
One thing that most like me is the landscape, hills where you look, with large tracts of planting anything, vineyards and field’s houses with corridor and clay tiles.

The photo following is the Municipality of Talagante, modern building along the characteristics described above,

Corridor with arches, the legacy of Spanish colonization,

Casa típica, sin antejardín,

Typical house without garden,

Iglesia de Lonquén (edificio centenario, monumento nacional),

Church of Lonquen (centenary building, national monument)
El camino desde Talagante hasta mi casa,

The road from Talagante until my house,

Y mi calle.

And my street.

(Pictures I took after two days of rain, and that is why I could not show the landscape).

Detalles en Verde / Details in Green

Again Sadie Olive proposed show things a certain colour, for this week: green. Although I ‘m not registered in his challenge, when I searched things in colour green in my house turned out to be a challenge for me, and that is apart from the closet that already I have shown before and my garden, I do not have many things in that colour here. Only I found this:

A pillow that breaks the monotony between the cream colour pillows

The frames of my children's photos on the desk
Un cuadro hecho en mosaico de azulejos

A picture done in mosaic tiles

In the kitchen, a box for tea bags and a little jar

In the garden, the pine fence behind the goal (impossible not to have a field of soccer with five men at home) and the palm trees among others.

Also this week I inscribed in a SAL Dear Jane organized by Georgina (an argentine in Qatar), and although is a project for Quilters experienced, I decided to try their luck, so I just hope that "God finds me confessed" before this adventure. My first block is here, and by the willingness of colours that I chose, turned green.

I hope you all have a nice week and good bye.

Detalles en Rojo / Details in Red

During the week, many blog I visit showed details of the houses in red, and is that Sadie Olive has organized this exhibition.

I love the color red, and although now I tend to go towards the pastel colors, there are still many details (or great details) red at home, like the color of it, that has not been changed for over ten years.

There is also the sofa in the living and the header wall in my bedroom.

Apart from these, there is the "Althaea Rosea" painted by hand in an armoire , the watermelon in an oil paint, dictionaries in other languages, parrots and "chiva," memories of a holiday in the Colombian Caribbean,

my mug of coffee at mid-morning and red apples, fruit favorite of my husband, others eat the green apples.

Also in the garden (in recess for the winter) I found those solitary little flowers and some ornamental grenades.

Finally this beautiful postcard I sent Mary Kate from Malaysia.

The Value of Old and the Price of New Embroidery

When I started doing patchwork, I liked the idea of to can combine it with other sewing techniques that I knew. So whenever I can, and the design is consistent, I added a source of embroidery. For this reason, apart from those who already had, I started to collect other motifs with different stitches. I find in the used clothing, dresses for girls, blouses, napkins, etc...

At home, my mother had kept some of the baby’s sheet that she made when I was born and a tablecloth embroidery machine by an aunt more than 40 years ago, now I have them, waiting for an opportunity more appropriate for use, because it certainly does not have price.

Por otra parte, esta semana compré para la mesa de la cocina, unas carpetas con Richelieu “made in China” y no gasté más de US$ 8… Sin comentarios.

Moreover, this week I bought for the kitchen table, some folders with Richelieu "Made in China" and I don't spent more than US$ 8. ….Without comments.
