Más cosmetiqueros / More Cosmetic Bags

Mi costura estuvo floja durante el mes de enero, como he contado antes, sólo bordé e hice pequeños acolchados a mano. Cuando quise “costurear”, no tenía la máquina de coser, mi marido la había llevado al servicio técnico y no tenía tiempo de retirarla.

My sewing was loose in January, as I've said before, only I embroidered and small quilting by hand. When I tried of sew, I hadn't sewing machine, my husband took the machine to Technical Service and he hadn't time to withdraw.

Estos bloques los hice hace un tiempo atrás, generalmente esto me sucede cuando entro en pánico al ver la bolsa de retazos que no logro eliminar, y allí quedaron en una caja con diferentes bloques que han salido de la bolsa antes mencionada. Los acolché y confeccioné un nuevo y fácil modelo de cosmetiquero, o bolso para el uso que uno desee, ya que es de un buen tamaño (le dije a uno de mis hijos que le haría de estos bolsos para su colación de vuelta a clases, y no me miró de buena gana…jajá).

These blocks I made some time ago, this usually happens to me when I go into panic when I saw the bag of scraps that I cannot remove, and they there were in a box where I left with different blocks who I sew scraps of the bag above. Telas Manchadas / Stained Fabrics

En Santiago conozco un par de tiendas con telas para patchwork, diseños novedosos y modernos, telas de primera selección y gran variedad de colores, pero en el momento de comprar, sus precios son exorbitantes. También acá existen las tiendas que venden telas por kilos: excedentes de grandes textiles de USA, con pequeñas fallas como una línea blanca por la mitad del género, estampado corrido o con cambios de colores, o por último, la escritura con plumón de algún supervisor. Claro que el precio puede ser la tercera o cuarta parte del anterior.

In Santiago of Chile, I know a couple of shops for patchwork fabrics, with innovative and modern designs, fabrics first selection and variety of colors, but at the time of purchase, their prices are exorbitant. Also here there are shops selling fabrics per kilogram: large surplus of U.S. textiles, with minor faults such as a white line down the middle of fabric, printing run or color changes, or finally, with the writing down of a supervisor. Of course the price may be the third or fourth of the above.
Muchas veces he comprado estas telas y he hecho figuras sacando las piezas para algún bloque de patchwork, pero también he encontrado algunas con efectos maravillosos. Aquí les muestro algunos ejemplos:

Colcha de la amistad / Friendship Quilt

Quiero agradecer los saludos y deseos de pronta recuperación que me dejaron en la entrada anterior, el cuidado y el reposo han sido clave en ella.

I want to thank the greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery that left me in the previous post, care and rest has been completed successfully.

Hace mucho tiempo que no publicaba nada acerca del intercambio 15 x 15, enviaba mis bloques y recibía los que previamente había acordado, y así en cuestión de cuatro meses he juntado 20 bloques, todos con el sello de cada autora. Esta semana mando dos bloques que me quedaron pendiente del año pasado y termino por mi parte, como así espero recibir seis bloques que me faltan. No cerraré el intercambio aún, pero si al cabo de dos meses no hay más interesadas, lo daré por terminado y realizaré mi colcha.

A long time ago not to publish anything about the swap 15 x 15, sent and received my blocks which had previously agreed, and so within four months I've put together 20 blocks, all with the stamp of each author. This week I send two blocks were outstanding last year and finished by myself, as well I hope to get six blocks that I lack. The swap I will not close yet, but if after two months there is no more interested, I'll terminate and make my quilt.

Ya había contado que estoy bordando, este es un avance en punto cruz, será el trabajo con que iniciaré “mi proyecto del mes OPAM”, un desafío organizado por una australiana, y que ya el año pasado me sirvió para terminar 28 labores entre colchas, caminos de mesas, bolsos, cosmetiqueros y miniquilts.

I had told her that I'm stitchery , this is a sneak peek in cross stitch, this work I will initiate "my project of the month OPAM" challenge organized by an Australian, and already last year helped me to finish 28 works ,between quilts , tablerunners, bags, cosmetic bags and miniquilts.

Reapareciendo / Reappearing

Hace más de dos semanas que me realizaron una cirugía reparadora, teniendo un post operatorio libre de dolor, pero incómodo. No supe de fiestas de fin de año, ni estuve involucrada en el ajetreo que se genera, sólo me está permitido el reposo y…el ocio (¿serán mis merecidas vacaciones?). Pero no puedo estar quieta (sólo un día tuve una jornada desde las 2 de la tarde hasta las nueve de la noche, de televisión), así que de a poco comencé a bordar y coser a mano. Ya tengo listo el primer Costurero de Ana, y me entretengo haciendo hexágonos para formar flores, si no aprovecho ahora para hacer la clásica colcha “El jardín de la abuela”… ¿cuándo?

More than two weeks ago I performed a reconstructive surgery, without pain, but uncomfortable, postoperative. I didn't knew of new year holiday, and I was not involved in the buzz that is generated, only allowed me to rest and leisure ... (are they my well-deserved vacation?). But I cannot sit still (only one day I seen TV from 2 o'clock until nine o'clock at night), so little by little I began to embroider and sew by hand. I already have ready the first Sewing Box of Ana, and I amuse myself making hexagons to form flowers, if, I don't make now the classic quilt "Grandma's Garden" ... when?
